Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the MAVENS website (the main site, the MAVENS Experience, MAVENS ID accounts and the free Aurora demo) collects, why, and the choices you have. MAVENS is a pre-release project created, owned and designed by Jacob Terrell.

What you can do without an account

You can browse the main site and the MAVENS Experience without signing in. These pages do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Information we collect

• Your MAVENS ID account. Your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
• Sign-in cookies. Small cookies that keep you signed in. They are needed for accounts to work and are not used for tracking.
• Demo usage counts. A count of how many Aurora demo messages your account sends each day, used only to apply the free daily limit. It does not contain your messages.
• Security records. Short-lived records of sign-in attempts, used to stop password guessing and abuse.
• Standard server logs. Our hosting provider may keep basic request logs (such as IP address and time of request) to run and protect the service.

Your Aurora conversations

• Your chats and Aurora settings are saved in your own browser, not on MAVENS servers. Clearing your browser data removes them.
• To answer you, your messages are sent to the AI model providers that power the demo (through OpenRouter, or Google Gemini). Those providers process your messages under their own privacy terms. Please don't share sensitive personal information in the demo.
• If you turn on Aurora's voice, the text she speaks is sent to a speech service to create the audio.
• When you ask for weather, the time somewhere, news, Wikipedia or YouTube, your request (for example a place name or search words) is sent to the public service that provides that information.
• If you add your own AI key under Models & keys, it stays in your browser and is sent only with your own requests. MAVENS never stores it.

Emails

We send account emails only: confirming your address and resetting your password. They are delivered by our email provider, Resend. We do not send marketing emails.

How we use your information

Only to provide your account and the Aurora demo, keep them secure, apply fair-use limits and respond to you. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your choices

• You can update your profile, sign out, or delete your MAVENS ID at any time from your account page. Deleting your account removes your account information from our database.
• You can delete your Aurora chats in the demo, or by clearing your browser's data for this site.

Children

MAVENS accounts and the Aurora demo are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
